Running is part of my effort to be healthy (in body, mind and spirit) and to be a positive example for my children. The past few years I have been reading more about the health benefits of running. From better brain performance to increased bone density, more positive moods to greater lung capacity, better sleep to improved joint strength and stability, and boosted immune system to more confidence: the benefits abound. And, all I need is a good pair of running shoes. Running is something that I can enjoy alone or I can do with my family. It’s so much fun to be out there running with my kids and husband. And, it’s such a blessing to be able to lead by example and have my family watch and cheer for me as I chase my own goals.
“A beige world is understimulating—and that’s stressful.” – Sally Augustin Ph.D., Psychology Today. I could not agree more. Color and creativity boost my energy and stimulate my spirit. I am a visual learner and enjoy working with different color palettes, designs and materials. For me, creativity is a free-flow journey. I may visualize an ending or result, but the path often changes along the way. The journey fills my senses, making me happier, more confident. I nurture my creativity in many different ways, including quilting, woodworking, crafting, cake-decorating, painting, and costume-making.
